Magnolia Farms a Day Trip for the Entire Family

If you are a fan of the HGTV show Fixer Upper; than taking a trip to see Magnolia Farms belongs on your travel agenda. On the show Chip and Joanna Gaines often talked about purchasing the silos in downtown Waco Texas. Their dream eventually came true.  They purchased the two silo’s plus a 20,000 square foot barn, then they added some imaginative restoration which equals a family friendly environment in downtown Waco Texas.

The heart of Magnolia Farms is the two huge grain large silos, which you can easily see at a distance as you approach the farm.

The silos make a great backdrop and many weddings are held in front of them. This is a perfect place to take a picture.

There is also a large grass common area that has plenty of outdoors games for the entire family to play.  The grass is artificial turf so you don’t have to worry about getting any grass stains.

The Magnolia Market is a great shopping experience which has a lot of creative furniture and decorative ideas for the home. The prices are a little expensive but the t-shirts and hats are reasonable. The market is filled with a variety of themes such as Demo Day and Chip’s corner.  The store has something for everyone in the family.

The Garden Magnolia Seed and Supply store has beautiful garden area with seasonal plants and vegetables growing.

The lawn area is also surrounded by a variety of food trucks to savor your taste buds after spending the day shopping and playing.

Before you leave the farm you must stop by the Silos Baking Co. and get a tasty treat. The bakery is filled with Joanna’s personal recipes. Be prepared to wait in line for at least 30 minutes, but while waiting, they provide you with a menu where you can savor over all the tasty treats before you reach the counter. I highly recommend the Chocolatier Cupcake; chocolate cake and chocolate butter cream icing. Yummy!

I had a great time at Magnolia Farms and I know you will too!! It’s a perfect day trip for the entire family. Don’t forget to take a picture with the vintage truck. Safe travels!
